Staff Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain shared native modules for device control and hardware-specific features across applications.
  • Plan and deliver React Native and native platform upgrades, including dependency work.
  • Own iOS and Android build, signing, release documentation, and store submission processes.
  • Define and monitor crash-free session rate, cold start time, and binary size targets.
  • Partner with backend teams on payloads, pagination, real-time device state, and API error semantics.
  • Set code review standards, mentor mobile engineers, and document technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with other engineering squads and Product, QA, Customer Success, and Marketing on mobile patterns and release scope.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years shipping mobile apps on the App Store and Google Play.
  • 3+ years of production React Native experience, including building and maintaining native modules.
  • Deep expertise in Swift or Kotlin, working fluency in the other language, and ability to read platform SDK source.
  • Experience leading a significant platform migration or major React Native upgrade from planning through delivery.
  • Backend experience with Node, Elixir, or similar sufficient for peer-level API design collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience integrating hardware, BLE, or other connected-device protocols from mobile applications.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include offline-first state management and conflict resolution experience, plus accessibility and localization delivery at scale in React Native.
