Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with customers and product to turn hardware review workflows into agent capabilities.
  • Design, ship, and operate agentic systems that reason over large-scale time-series data and hardware context.
  • Build tool interfaces, sandboxed execution environments, context and memory management, compaction algorithms, skills, and guardrails for dependable agents.
  • Build distributed systems that stream long-running agent work, survive disconnects, and resume across restarts.
  • Design job-based systems to schedule, scale, and tear down agent workloads on Kubernetes in cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Develop and maintain Sift’s MCP server and APIs for querying telemetry.
  • Build evaluation suites and production instrumentation for quality, latency, cost, and failure modes.
  • Integrate and assess frontier models across providers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience owning a product area, including customer conversations, prioritization, and shipping.
  • Experience building APIs and complex backend services with Go, Python, Rust, or similar technologies.
  • Working knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Curiosity about new AI products, agents, models, and features.

Benefits

  • $180,000–$230,000 annual salary, plus equity and benefits.
  • In-person collaboration at headquarters in Marina Del Rey twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • A full in-person week every two months.
  • Open to relocating candidates to Los Angeles or working from the San Francisco office for the right candidate.
  • U.S. person status is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, or protected individual status, for ITAR/EAR compliance.

Salary: $180k - $230k/yr
