Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance native Android applications based on business needs and technical designs.
  • Own feature development from requirements through delivery while ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders on technical designs and requirements.
  • Coordinate team activities, prioritize tasks, and maintain alignment for timely delivery.
  • Guide and mentor developers and support resolution of complex engineering challenges.
  • Contribute to technical decisions and promote consistent engineering standards.
  • Conduct code reviews with 100% code review coverage.
  • Write unit and functional tests and assist QA with reviewing, creating, and delivering automation tests.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of Android development experience.
  • Previous experience as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or in a similar leadership role.
  • Expertise in native Android development with Java and Kotlin.
  • Strong knowledge of MVVM and modern Android architecture patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Android libraries and integrations.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, including build obfuscation and encryption.
  • Experience with HTTPS, TLS, SHA-256, Cipher Block Chaining, and encryption frameworks or utilities.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor developers, coordinate activities, and support technical decisions.
  • Experience with code reviews and maintaining engineering standards.
  • Strong prioritization, communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, ownership, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and collaboration skills.
  • Desirable experience with third-party device integrations such as watches and payment terminals.
  • Desirable understanding of client-server full-stack architecture and Pub/Sub and Producer/Consumer messaging patterns.
