Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed system components and optimize them for large-scale data processing.
  • Develop backend services, APIs, automation, and web-based operator experiences for OCI Product Catalog.
  • Implement replication, synchronization, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, failover, and recovery-oriented reliability mechanisms.
  • Create functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests.
  • Build dashboards, telemetry, alarms, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
  • Develop troubleshooting automation and infrastructure-as-code tools for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
  • Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance, documentation, and change-management practices.
  • Review implementations for scalability and independently own features from design through production operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience; the broader qualifications section also specifies experience alternatives ranging from 2 to 8 years depending on education.
  • Strong Java or comparable object-oriented programming experience.
  • Backend service and secure API development experience, including production-quality software delivery.
  • Full-stack development experience with modern web UI development.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, testing, observability, reliability, operational readiness, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including at least 2 years listed for cloud platform experience.
  • At least 3 years of system-level testing and automation experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, prototyping, algorithm, operating system, source control, API integration, security, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience includes Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure, GCP, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Kubernetes, containerized services, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, cloud control-plane systems, service catalogs, configuration management, metadata platforms, service registries, metering, quotas, limits, and lifecycle-management systems.
