Develop low-level software configuring and driving processor peripherals and communication interfaces on spacecraft avionics.
Write and debug device drivers for sensors, actuators, and spacecraft bus components.
Implement onboard algorithms, including closed-loop control and fault detection and response for failed sensors and radiation upsets.
Develop both iterative bench-test code and rigorous, reviewed, tested software for manufacturing and flight.
Provide embedded software input for new system and hardware designs.
Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations.
Requirements
U.S. Person status or the ability to obtain required export authorizations is required for access to export-controlled data.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
At least 3 years of experience writing C/C++ for embedded systems, ideally involving spacecraft, robotics, automotive, or other hardware interacting with the physical world.
Experience developing microcontroller firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
Experience writing and debugging low-level device drivers over SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and CAN.
Experience with hardware/software integration, including reading schematics and using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for hardware bring-up.
Understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor architecture, including memory, buses, and DMA.
Preferred qualifications include FPGA development, new avionics or flight-hardware bring-up, satellite attitude control systems, motors and power electronics, feedback sensors, and CCSDS or ECSS familiarity.
