Software Engineering Lead in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Lead design discussions covering APIs, databases, caching layers, messaging, resilience, and observability.
  • Design end-to-end architecture for financial services applications in collaboration with product owners and technical teams.
  • Evaluate trade-offs and develop scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Lead AWS engineering efforts and evaluate new software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
  • Design strategies and architectures for cloud-based data lakes and real-time or near-real-time data ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Design cloud-native applications using AWS services, serverless workflows, declarative coding, and modern architecture practices.
  • Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
  • Maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, reusable best practices, and knowledge-transfer artifacts.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
  • Support off-hours incident response when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including 3+ years in system or application design.
  • Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
  • Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures, containers, EKS/ECS, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions.
  • Experience as an adaptable people leader who supports collaboration and dynamic environments.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and delivering hands-on proof-of-concepts is preferred.
  • Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
