Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Fluent Commerce order orchestration workflows using states, rulesets, triggers, and user actions.
  • Develop custom Java rules with the Fluent SDK for validation, sourcing, allocation, fulfilment, and notifications.
  • Build and consume Fluent Commerce GraphQL APIs and design efficient data access for downstream consumers.
  • Extend Fluent Commerce user interfaces with the OMX UX Framework, custom form fields, and configured web apps.
  • Integrate Fluent Commerce with ecommerce platforms, ERPs, WMS, POS, payment systems, and carrier or 3PL services.
  • Configure inventory, Available-to-Promise, fulfilment networks, and sourcing strategies.
  • Write automated tests for rules and workflows and validate behavior with Postman and the GraphQL explorer.
  • Package and deploy modules or plugins across environments while supporting CI/CD, monitoring, and release processes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues involving stuck orders and waves by inspecting audit events and workflow paths.
  • Contribute to technical design, code reviews, documentation, estimation, mentoring, and Fluent best-practice sharing.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional software development experience with strong core Java skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Fluent Commerce or Fluent Order Management, including workflows, rules, and the Fluent SDK; comparable OMS or orchestration experience may be considered for candidates willing to certify quickly.
  • Solid GraphQL experience and familiarity with REST, JSON, and API design.
  • Understanding of event-driven and asynchronous architectures, webhooks, message or event handling, and distributed-service integration.
  • Experience integrating commerce front ends, ERP, WMS, POS, carrier, and other enterprise systems through APIs and middleware.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, Git-based version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and data-flow reasoning skills.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication and the ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Fluent Commerce certification or a plan to obtain it is preferred.
  • JavaScript, TypeScript, and React experience is preferred for deeper OMX UX Framework work.
  • Experience with composable or MACH commerce, commercetools, headless commerce, retail order management, omnichannel fulfilment, or other OMS platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to AWS Lambda, containers, and infrastructure-as-code is preferred.
