Responsibilities

  • Establish and evolve technical standards and architectural approaches for modern enterprise websites, CMS platforms, frontend frameworks, integrations, hosting, infrastructure, data, search, analytics, and related systems.

  • Create reusable architectural patterns, shared packages, starter frameworks, generators, internal tools, playbooks, and reference implementations.
  • Raise standards for code quality, modularity, maintainability, performance, accessibility, testing, documentation, code review, security, and technical debt management.
  • Shape technical scope, estimates, risks, dependencies, assumptions, proposals, statements of work, change orders, and handoffs from sales to delivery.

  • Evaluate emerging frameworks, platforms, developer tooling, AI capabilities, automation, and engineering practices, establishing where Webstacks should adopt, experiment, or standardize.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to improve delivery systems, reduce technical friction and rework, and align technical quality with scope, schedule, staffing, margin, and client expectations.

  • Client credibility and executive communication skills, including the ability to explain architectural decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and delivery expectations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness of how technical decisions affect scope, timelines, staffing, risk, margin, and client expectations.
  • Experience identifying recurring problems and converting them into standards, reusable architecture, tooling, shared libraries, and improved ways of working.
  • Ability to mentor senior and mid-level engineers and develop technical leaders without becoming a bottleneck for routine decisions.
  • Comfort working close to implementation when needed while creating leverage across teams and engagements.
  • Ability to collaborate across Engineering, Strategy, Design, Program Management, Operations, Growth, and Account Leadership and influence without direct authority.
  • Interest in AI-assisted engineering, automation, emerging technologies, and developer tooling, with judgment about their practical value.
