Responsibilities

Architect, implement, and maintain high-reliability systems software for controller-upgrade automation and hardware upgrade infrastructure.
Automate hardware replacement and upgrade workflows into repeatable self-service processes.
Develop state machines, health checks, workflow orchestration, validations, failure handling, and automated recovery paths.
Collaborate with internal services, Pure1 and Skyline cloud teams, and global engineering units.
Create test strategies, regression coverage, and CI/CD automation across hardware and software combinations.
Establish operational metrics and telemetry for upgrade execution, intervention, errors, and system behavior.

Requirements

Strong hands-on development and coding skills in C++ and Python.
Foundational experience with distributed systems, high availability, storage architectures, hardware lifecycle, or embedded/platform software.
Experience designing state machines, workflow orchestration, health checks, error handling, and operator guidance for critical systems.
Exceptional debugging ability across software, hardware, and distributed-service boundaries.
Experience with automated validation across hardware and software combinations and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a record of cross-functional technical alignment.
Willingness to work on-site in Santa Clara, California.
Familiarity with NVMe, iSCSI, PCIe, NUMA, HA failover, array controller replacement, or server/CPU hardware architecture is a plus.

Benefits

Annual base salary range of $149,000–$224,000 USD, with possible incentive pay and/or equity.
