System Software Engineer - Base OS in Others

Responsibilities

  • Enable NVIDIA Vera Superchips on Linux distributions including Ubuntu, RedHat, and SLES.
  • Support internal validation teams for Vera MGX systems.
  • Work with external partners and customers to enable preferred kernels and Linux distributions on MGX platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware development teams to bring up new NVIDIA platforms from power-on through OS boot.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent C and Python programming skills.
  • Familiarity with at least one major Linux distribution: Ubuntu, RedHat, or SLES.
  • Knowledge of operating-system concepts including filesystems, job scheduling, device drivers, and storage.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include virtualization knowledge such as device passthrough and SR-IOV, PCIe or USB protocol experience, UEFI and BMC firmware experience, GitHub and open-source development exposure, and complex system-level debugging experience.
