Responsibilities

Lead by example and mentor a diverse team of analytics engineers.
Develop instrumentation and experimentation best practices and communicate them to product engineering teams.
Build AI tools and analysis pipelines for scalable insights, while improving understanding and quality of data structures and metrics.
Use AI to accelerate analysis, prototyping, documentation, and quality assurance while verifying correctness.
Partner with data scientists and engineers to enable self-service access to datasets, insights, and metric investigations.
Document tools and datasets and drive strategy for data quality and data democratization.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to translate insights into new Pinterest experiences.

Requirements

6+ years of experience working with data in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Fluency in SQL or other database languages and Python or R, including nested data manipulation, windowing functions, query optimization, and data partitioning.
Experience with workflow orchestration, ETL/ELT, large complex datasets, and DAG data dependencies.
Demonstrated ability to deliver analytics solutions, scope open-ended goals, and define impactful objectives.
Strong cross-functional collaboration, ownership, initiative, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to use AI productively while critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work through testing, source-checking, data validation, and peer review.
Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
Preferred experience in automation, anomaly detection, infrastructure or workflow optimization, and internal tooling for engineering velocity.

Benefits

US-based position with a remote working model and in-office collaboration required 1–2 times per month; it can be situated anywhere in the country.

Salary: $177k - $365k/yr
