Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction for data access, self-service tools, dashboards, and the team’s AI-powered assistant.
  • Solve complex, multi-layered problems spanning multiple areas of the platform and make broadly relied-upon technical tradeoffs.
  • Anticipate scaling needs as more teams depend on the platform’s data and tools.
  • Drive improvements to engineering tooling, processes, and quality practices.
  • Influence capability priorities using an ROI-driven perspective aligned with internal customer needs.
  • Develop and share expertise across multiple platform areas and provide guidance to other engineers.
  • Partner with support, trading, business, and product teams to shape platform capabilities and data access.

Requirements

  • Track record of solving difficult, ambiguous technical problems end-to-end across multiple systems.
  • Deep expertise in backend services and/or data-intensive systems such as event pipelines, data warehouse or lakehouse platforms, or SDK development.
  • Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs based on return on investment and business impact.
  • Ability to drive improvements to team processes, tooling, and quality practices.
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Motivation and ability to mentor engineers through guidance, design reviews, and technical leadership.
  • 11+ years of software development or engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s-level degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
