Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cryptographic services meeting FIPS and regulated-environment requirements.
  • Architect and operate mission-critical crypto services with reliability and security as first-class constraints.
  • Own Kubernetes-based services end to end, including deployment, scaling, on-call, and incident response.
  • Apply threat modeling, secure coding, and rigorous code review practices.
  • Evaluate and apply AI/ML to security use cases such as anomaly detection, certificate risk scoring, and cryptographic code review.
  • Translate compliance and security requirements into working cryptographic frameworks with product, security architecture, and platform teams.
  • Mentor engineers on secure coding, cryptographic pitfalls, and design reviews.
  • Track cryptographic advancements, including post-quantum readiness.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Production-scale experience with Java, Go, or a comparable strongly typed language.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and distributed systems.
  • Production experience running Kubernetes services with deployments and Helm in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment.
  • Working knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and TLS/PKI fundamentals.
  • Experience with cryptography, PKI, key management, secrets management, certificate lifecycle systems, HSM/KMS integration, or crypto-agility work.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as FIPS 140-2/3, FedRAMP, Common Criteria, or similar.
  • Exposure to post-quantum cryptography.
  • Some hands-on AI/ML experience applied to security or operations problems, or experience critically integrating LLM tooling into engineering workflows.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and improving security practices on a team.
