Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve the compiler pipeline’s intermediate representation, analysis passes, and C++ code generation.
  • Build type inference and lowering for dynamic Python features including arbitrary-precision integers, exceptions, generators, containers, and library calls.
  • Measure semantic equivalence using differential testing against CPython, conformance suites, and fuzzing.
  • Integrate LLM-assisted code generation with structured outputs and validation checks.
  • Collaborate with verification and domain specialists on static analysis and formal methods.
  • Set engineering standards for testing, CI/CD, reproducible builds, and code review.
  • Lead the architecture of the end-to-end translation pipeline and large technical projects.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience in C++ and/or Python shipping software to real users.
  • Hands-on experience building a compiler, transpiler, interpreter, or language runtime end to end.
  • Deep knowledge of parsing, AST and IR design, type systems, IR transformations, and code generation.
  • Experience with compiler infrastructure such as Clang/LLVM, MLIR, GCC, or equivalent.
  • Strong modern C++ knowledge, including templates, value semantics, undefined behavior, and source-to-machine-code mapping.
  • Experience with code review, testing, CI/CD, and build systems.
  • Track record of leading large technical projects and translating stakeholder needs into designs.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred experience includes dynamic-language implementation or analysis, differential testing, fuzzing, symbolic execution, formal verification, LLM-based code generation or program repair, embedded or heterogeneous targets, and DSP, RF, communications, or other compute-intensive domains.
  • A current security clearance or ability to obtain one is preferred; U.S. citizenship is required for cleared work.

Salary: $170k - $250k/yr
