Responsibilities

Own the full product lifecycle from business requirements and technology selection through coding, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
Design, develop, and maintain FinTech platforms, scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and storage solutions.
Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems for financial technology use cases.
Develop and optimize data collection, processing, analysis, reconciliation, payments, tax, reporting, and payout solutions.
Mentor engineers and promote high-quality software development practices across the team.
Collaborate with other teams and departments to advance product and technology goals.
Lead initiatives involving system architecture, operational excellence, metrics, alarms, dashboards, and distributed systems.
Recruit and onboard exceptional technical talent.

Requirements

8+ years of experience developing high-performance production applications.
Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Apache Spark.
Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
Ability to reason about systems, edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycles.
Experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience with operational excellence and a strong understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
Preferred experience in FinTech or payments organizations and domains such as financial reconciliation, financial reporting, tax, virtual credit cards, or customer payments.
Preferred hands-on experience with Spark, ETL data pipelines, Kafka, RabbitMQ, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
Preferred experience developing, maintaining, and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
Preferred experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams with full ownership of the systems involved.
