Staff Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design high-performance, extensible, and scalable application services that embed Xometry AI into external PLM environments.
  • Establish organizational engineering patterns and technical standards across multiple products and teams.
  • Lead integration of production ML pipelines, optimized model serving, and real-time geometry analysis into the application layer.
  • Mentor engineers on effective use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
  • Develop secure ring-fenced data governance approaches that keep partner part files within partner network infrastructure.
  • Establish strategic direction and lead execution of the core enterprise integration.
  • Facilitate technical decisions across Xometry and serve as a primary technical contact for senior leadership and external partners.
  • Define reliability, security, and multi-tenant management standards for partner-hosted and Xometry-hosted deployments.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience with a history of scaling complex platforms.
  • Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks including React/NextJS.
  • Proven experience shaping technical direction across multiple teams and establishing organizational engineering standards.
  • Track record of securing endorsement for and delivering 6–12 month initiatives to production.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term technology investments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms or complex B2B integration hubs is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing, logistics, or CAD/PLM software ecosystems is preferred.
  • Understanding of enterprise data controls, dedicated tenants, and SOC2/ISO compliance in cloud environments is preferred.
  • Experience architecting large-scale ML platforms or high-frequency marketplace engines is preferred.

  • Hybrid schedule requiring three days per week at the North Bethesda, Maryland or Waltham, Massachusetts office.
  • Base salary of $170,000–$195,000 annually plus an annual bonus.
