Responsibilities

Lead broad-scope initiatives to eliminate classes of vulnerabilities from Verkada’s software and infrastructure.
Build tools, libraries, automation, and frameworks that help software engineers implement security correctly.
Leverage AI to automate security engineering practices.
Collaborate with engineering leaders to define and execute security goals, priorities, and processes.
Work with the CISO and security team to expand Verkada’s security and privacy programs.
Share security expertise through conferences, presentations, blogs, and open source.
Write code every day across a variety of technology stacks.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
At least 7 years of experience as a software engineer who has worked on security problems.
Interest in security weaknesses, attacks, and mitigations, including the ability to break things.
Experience leveraging AI while building software.
Excellent collaboration skills and outstanding written and verbal communication.
Master’s or PhD in security is a bonus.
Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
