Staff Site Reliability Engineer - Kubernetes in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant Kubernetes platforms.
  • Build, manage, and optimize AWS infrastructure including EKS, ECS, S3, VPCs, RDS, and IAM.
  • Create and manage Helm charts for production Kubernetes deployments.
  • Implement and operate Karpenter for dynamic Kubernetes cluster scaling and resource optimization.
  • Configure and manage Istio for service-to-service communication, traffic management, security, service discovery, policy enforcement, and observability.
  • Automate infrastructure and application deployment, scaling, and management through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Respond to incidents and troubleshoot performance, availability, and security issues.
  • Implement secure cloud infrastructure with access controls, network security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Maintain operational documentation and promote knowledge sharing across teams.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Terraform.
  • At least 5 years of experience with AWS.
  • Experience with multi-region cloud environments and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong expertise creating, managing, securing, networking, and storing workloads on Kubernetes platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Helm, Karpenter, and Istio.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, Terraform, Ansible, and Spinnaker.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools including Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and ELK Stack.
  • Understanding of cloud and Kubernetes security practices including RBAC, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
  • CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hire.

Salary: $194k - $267k/yr
