Staff Security Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect systems that support Aurora’s security goals and safety case.
  • Lead hands-on implementation of vehicle security systems.
  • Lead integration of security capabilities and components with partner teams, vehicle-platform partners, and OEMs.
  • Develop security frameworks and technologies for Aurora’s autonomous vehicle platform.
  • Conduct or contribute to architecture reviews, threat modeling, security code reviews, and release security.
  • Write production-quality C++ and Golang code, unit tests, and integration tests.
  • Translate product requirements and company goals into independently implemented software.
  • Debug across module boundaries and collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Lead and organize projects to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Guide and mentor security and non-security engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability and desire to write production-quality code in C++ and Golang.
  • At least 8 years of development experience in a software engineering environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a security-specific or security-adjacent industry.
  • Ability to collaborate with software engineers on design and code and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience translating product requirements into code independently.
  • Ability to write high-quality production code, unit tests, and integration tests and debug across module boundaries.
  • Knowledge of best practices for cryptographic protocols, infrastructure security, and network security.
  • Ability to translate company goals into product requirements and lead teams and projects.
  • Preferred experience evaluating software and service security; embedded firmware and hardware security, particularly in robotics or automotive; fuzzers; AWS cloud security; infrastructure-as-code; Trusted Platform Modules; HSMs; trusted boot; and open-source contributions, published papers, or conference presentations.

Benefits

  • In-person work is expected at least 3 days per week, with some roles requiring up to 5 days per week in the office.

Salary: $171k - $303k/yr
