Responsibilities

Design and evolve AWS cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code practices, environment topology, and infrastructure standards.
Own uptime, error budgets, autoscaling, failover, graceful degradation, circuit breakers, retries, disaster recovery, and tested restore paths.
Lead Sev1/Sev2 incident response, post-mortems, root-cause analysis, and follow-through to prevent recurring failures.
Own monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and observability for infrastructure, token consumption, and model spend.
Operate PostgreSQL and Redis in production, including sizing, topology, replication, read replicas, connection pooling, failover, point-in-time recovery, upgrades, and query diagnostics.
Improve infrastructure cost attribution and efficiency without compromising reliability.
Own runtime infrastructure security, including IAM, least privilege, network boundaries, secrets management, patching, vulnerability remediation, audits, and control evidence.
Measure and improve uptime, incident detection and resolution times, recurring failure rates, infrastructure costs, database performance, alert quality, and on-call load.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
Deep AWS expertise with direct production ownership.
Production-scale infrastructure-as-code experience.
Hands-on production operation of PostgreSQL, including sizing, tuning, replication, and recovery.
Real on-call experience supporting systems with meaningful uptime expectations.
Demonstrated infrastructure cost optimization work with quantified results.
Strong distributed-systems debugging and root-cause analysis abilities.
Preferred: cloud security posture experience, including IAM design, secrets management, and audit support.
Preferred: experience with real-time or latency-sensitive workloads.
Preferred: primary-owner experience with Datadog or a comparable APM tool.
Preferred: experience helping a company scale beyond its original architecture while maintaining production operations.
