Responsibilities

  • Own the team’s technical direction, architecture, design reviews, and implementation guidance across frontend, backend, and integrations.
  • Design, build, deploy, and improve product capabilities and reliable backend services with event-driven workflows, asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
  • Develop AI-powered experiences with grounding, evaluation, human review, monitoring, and clear failure handling.
  • Establish practices for testing, observability, security, privacy, AI safety, cost management, operational readiness, and production supportability.
  • Use usage data, customer feedback, and production insights to improve reliability, usefulness, and adoption.
  • Mentor engineers, grow technical ownership, raise engineering standards, and coordinate cross-team initiatives and dependencies.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate ambiguous business needs into practical, scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building production SaaS products.
  • Strong programming skills, computer science fundamentals, and production experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and operating event-driven systems with reliable message delivery, asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
  • Full-stack development experience with React or Angular and proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, API design, relational databases, transactions, and ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in setting architecture, leading complex initiatives, making trade-offs, and helping engineers deliver effectively.
  • Experience delivering LLM-powered capabilities to production, including evaluation, monitoring, and quality improvement.
  • Experience writing maintainable production code and applying meaningful testing, monitoring, and documentation practices.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, practical problem-solving, sound judgment, ownership, and willingness to learn.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Node.js, NestJS, AWS, containerized services, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, internal tools, operational workflow automation, AI evaluation platforms, retrieval systems, or agent tooling.
