Responsibilities

Lead the design of critical Nutanix Kubernetes Platform components for multi-tenancy, resilience, fleet management, and edge environments.
Architect systems capable of managing tens of thousands of Kubernetes clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Mentor and provide technical leadership to a distributed team of 5–10 engineers through design reviews, coding standards, and technical guidance.
Partner with Product Management, Data Services, and Core Hybrid Cloud teams on technical roadmaps for stateful workloads and disaster recovery.
Represent Nutanix in the open-source community through upstream CNCF contributions, including Cluster API and Kappa.
File patents and author white papers on hybrid-cloud technology.
Work with customers and support teams to resolve complex production issues and maintain platform scale and user experience.

Requirements

12+ years of software development experience within product-led companies.
Significant experience architecting and shipping large-scale distributed systems.
Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
Experience with cloud-native systems, Docker or containers, and large-scale control-plane management is preferred.
Knowledge of Kubernetes internals, including controllers and API machinery, is a plus.
Ability to lead across teams, drive consensus, navigate ambiguity, and balance long-term innovation with short-term risk.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
