Staff DevOps Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Own the software-factory roadmap, architecture, tooling decisions, reusable pipeline templates, and golden-path standards.
  • Build and operate shared pipelines for building, testing, scanning, signing, and deploying software.
  • Embed security scanning, policy enforcement, risk thresholds, and automated release decisions into pipeline stages.
  • Operate versioning, environment promotion, release gates, expedited hotfix pipelines, and release governance.
  • Automate dependency updates, track dependency health, generate SBOMs, and verify artifact signing and provenance.
  • Build and improve an internal developer platform with self-service provisioning, onboarding, documentation, and support capabilities.
  • Author and test production infrastructure-as-code modules and enforce policy-as-code across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Operate vulnerability scanning, identity and access operations, secrets lifecycle management, and continuous compliance evidence.
  • Build agentic workflows for pipeline triage, dependency orchestration, and routine support with appropriate security guardrails.
  • Mentor engineers, establish standards, conduct reviews, and align Architecture, SRE, Cloud Operations, and Product Development around the roadmap.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of production engineering experience with recent hands-on work.
  • Recent hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipeline platforms at production scale.
  • Practical experience configuring security scanning and driving a real vulnerability to closure within a deadline.
  • Experience authoring and testing infrastructure-as-code production modules rather than only consuming them.
  • Demonstrated ownership of release, dependency, or vulnerability-management outcomes with measurable results.
  • Fluency in scripting and automation with a focus on eliminating manual toil.
  • Preferred: supply-chain security experience with signing, SBOMs, provenance, and SLSA.
  • Preferred: internal developer platform or self-service design experience measured by adoption.
  • Preferred: release-gate or release-train ownership, including expedited or emergency-change delivery.
  • Preferred: agentic delivery automation using AWS Agent Core or an equivalent, plus AI or LLM security practice.
