Sr Software Engineer, Platform Cryptography in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain secure cryptographic services for FIPS-compliant and regulated environments.
  • Build and operate key management, certificate lifecycle, and secrets distribution services in a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
  • Apply ML and statistical techniques to detect anomalous cryptographic usage and compromise indicators.
  • Build near-real-time inference and detection pipelines.
  • Translate security and compliance requirements into production code with product owners, security architects, and engineering teams.
  • Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes, including on-call and incident response.
  • Threat-model designs, conduct rigorous code reviews, and identify cryptographic anti-patterns.
  • Stay current with cryptographic advancements, including post-quantum readiness.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java, Go, or an equivalent object-oriented language at production scale.
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance and scalability considerations.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, resource isolation, concurrency, and shared-infrastructure scaling.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with material technical risk across teams and processes.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment.
  • Working knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, PKI, and TLS fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated secure coding, code review, unit testing, and automation practices.
  • Experience with cryptography, PKI, key management, or secrets management systems is preferred.
  • Applied ML/AI experience in anomaly detection, classification, or engineering-tool integration is preferred.
  • Experience building distributed backend systems with microservices and SQL or NoSQL data stores is preferred.
  • Exposure to FIPS 140-2/3, FedRAMP, or similar regulated environments is preferred.
