Responsibilities

Develop a highly reliable and scalable enterprise data platform for petabyte-scale data ingestion, processing, storage, and querying.
Create new functionality and end-to-end data pipelines that improve SpaceX business operations.
Collaborate with engineers on architecture, design, and code reviews.
Build prototypes to validate key design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
Analyze business problems, identify efficient solutions, and apply first-principles thinking.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another scientific discipline, or 7+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
At least 5 years of experience in full-stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science.
Programming experience with Scala, Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar languages.
Frontend experience with Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks.
Experience optimizing in-stream big-data processing and analytics frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases and data lakes such as Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, or CockroachDB.
Experience with data exploration tools such as Grafana, Metabase, or Power BI.
Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, monitoring, statistics, and machine-learning algorithms and frameworks.
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Benefits

Base salary range of $160,000.00–$265,000.00 per year.
