Sr Software Development Engineer in in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Python automation frameworks for controlling and monitoring hardware test benches.
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI, for continuous testing and rapid deployment.
  • Assemble, configure, and maintain computer systems and physical hardware test rigs.
  • Administer, patch, and tune Linux-based test environments.
  • Triage test bench failures across software, network, and hardware layers.
  • Collaborate with test engineers and firmware/software teams to define automation requirements and integrate hardware.
  • Monitor system health and pipeline performance, resolve bottlenecks and recurring failures, and document tooling and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience writing Python for automation, scripting, or hardware/CLI interaction.
  • Experience working in Linux environments with shell scripting, file permissions, and package management.
  • Hands-on experience assembling or maintaining physical computer hardware.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and isolate root causes across software, network, and hardware layers under time pressure.
  • Preferred experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions; Linux monitoring and observability tooling; hardware test benches or QA lab infrastructure; network troubleshooting; and cross-functional work with firmware, software, or DevOps teams.
