Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded control software for vehicle-management features using state machines, arbitration logic, and vehicle-mode handling.
  • Review requirements and produce high-level functional specifications with systems, integration, and platform partners.
  • Own features end to end and integrate them across multiple ECUs and vehicle networks through release readiness.
  • Develop and maintain diagnostics and diagnostic interfaces for troubleshooting, manufacturing, and service.
  • Support ISO 26262 safety analyses for passive-safety and vehicle-access features.
  • Validate features in unit, SIL, HIL, and vehicle environments, including tuning, calibration, and automated regression activities.
  • Troubleshoot functional, field, and fleet issues across physical, electrical, network, and software domains using vehicle data and logs.
  • Prioritize and escalate issues based on user impact, safety relevance, and program objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, software engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with automotive or embedded software systems.
  • Expertise in C and Python.
  • Strong knowledge of real-time operating systems, task scheduling, memory management, MPU protection, interrupts, and timing analysis.
  • Experience with CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, DIDs, DTCs, diagnostic routines, and related tools.
  • Experience with safety-relevant automotive software and functional safety methods including ISO 26262, FMEA, and fault trees.
  • Understanding of hardware components relevant to body controls.
  • Experience with requirements management systems such as JAMA or Flow.
  • Experience with passive safety or vehicle access is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building embedded-software test automation, SIL frameworks, HIL/VHIL test benches, automated regression, and CI integration is preferred.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted software development tools and agents to code generation, test creation, and log or issue triage is preferred.
  • Experience with test reporting and data pipelines for feature health and test coverage is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
