Sr Advanced Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, integrate, qualify, and document advanced test software for Clearwater Space products, including Inertial Navigation Units and Single Board Computers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and integrate software with hardware components.
  • Lead software development efforts while maintaining quality standards and project timelines.
  • Provide technical leadership and help lead a team of test software engineers through project execution.
  • Support software innovation, performance, reliability, safety, and quality for aerospace applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • At least 6 years of software development experience focused on advanced software engineering principles.
  • At least 3 years of experience with test equipment or aerospace.
  • US citizenship and capability to acquire a Secret clearance.
  • Experience with digital communication interfaces including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, IEEE 488, RS-422/485, IEEE-1394, Ethernet, High-Speed Fiber Optic, and SDLC.
  • Experience with embedded systems or aerospace software development, embedded drivers, and embedded operating systems such as VxWorks.
  • Experience developing Windows GUIs and device drivers.
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns, embedded systems, and real-time operating systems.
  • Proficiency in C#, C++, and Python, along with experience using aerospace software standards and tools.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle processes and tools relevant to aerospace applications.
  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is valued.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, technical writing, leadership, and collaboration skills.
