Space Embedded Software Engineer II in USA

Responsibilities

  • Develop reliable firmware controlling spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations throughout the mission.
  • Own software design, development, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Capture requirements and scope projects, including initial design trades for open-ended problems.
  • Write structured bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++.
  • Build highly reliable and available software systems and provide flight operational support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, physics, or engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
  • Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware and software systems.
  • Strong C++ development experience and understanding of C++ language concepts.
  • Preferred: aerospace safety-critical software experience, Python or Rust experience, and knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and computer networking.

Salary: $144k - $184k/yr
