Responsibilities

  • Design and develop system-level testing tools for Cisco Enterprise Wireless Access Point products.
  • Plan and execute functional, system, manual, and automated testing for Access Point software features and modules.
  • Review product requirements and software specifications to derive test requirements and identify testability needs.
  • Build, maintain, and expand test automation and regression coverage across software releases.
  • Investigate customer-found issues by creating reproduction scenarios, analyzing failures, validating fixes, and incorporating findings into regression strategies.
  • Technically lead and guide junior engineers through test planning, automation, debugging, execution, and technical reviews.
  • Collaborate with local and remote teams to resolve defects, dependencies, and open issues.
  • Advise management on test progress, quality status, release readiness, and project risks.
  • Improve testing efficiency through appropriate approaches, technologies, tools, and innovations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of wireless networking and testing technologies and archive relevant documentation and equipment information.

Requirements

  • MSEE or MS in Computer Science with 10+ years of related experience, or BSEE or BS in Computer Science with 12+ years of related experience.
  • Extensive experience with Wireless LAN technologies, Access Point software, and enterprise wireless products.
  • End-to-end wireless domain knowledge, including designing and troubleshooting Access Point deployments in medium-to-large customer-like environments.
  • Strong Python scripting skills and experience understanding and coding programmability transports using native and OpenConfig models.
  • Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and issue-closure skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, exercise judgment within defined procedures, and interact effectively with local and remote teams.
  • Experience supporting or working with Access Points in customer deployments is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to organizational productivity improvements and overall test strategies is preferred.
  • Self-motivation, ownership, independence, teamwork, and commitment to continuous learning are preferred.
