Software Quality Engineer, Radar in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute manual and automated functional, regression, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests for radar software and firmware.
  • Identify, document, reproduce, debug, and verify fixes for software and firmware defects.
  • Build and maintain software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure, including test rigs, emulators, and harnesses.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and automated test suites that provide actionable feedback across radar products.
  • Develop tooling to collect, catalog, retain, retrieve, and replay radar test data reproducibly.
  • Support repeatable deployment of firmware and software updates to lab hardware, test benches, and fielded units.
  • Create release-assurance workflows covering test evidence, release notes, software bills of materials, artifact versioning, and traceability.
  • Partner with software, firmware, systems, and configuration-management teams to define release criteria and verify quality standards.
  • Improve testing methodologies, coding standards, and release practices as the radar portfolio scales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, software test engineering, or software development infrastructure.
  • Experience developing automated unit-, integration-, or system-level tests.
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.
  • Working proficiency in C++ to understand, instrument, and debug production software.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience with bug-tracking systems such as Jira.
  • Experience testing and debugging software in Linux environments.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, plus excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred experience includes hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop infrastructure, large test datasets, release automation, artifact management, software bill of materials generation, configuration management, firmware or embedded-software deployment, Nix or NixOS, Docker, and LLM-assisted coding with Claude Code or Codex.
