Software Engineer, Product / Mobile in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Ship full-stack features end-to-end from product discovery and scoping through implementation and release.
  • Develop across a TypeScript/Node serverless backend using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and SQS, plus React Native frontends.
  • Make pragmatic decisions in ambiguous situations and unblock yourself and teammates.
  • Add logging, metrics, alerts, and tests to keep releases stable.
  • Improve existing product surfaces through refactoring and technical-debt reduction.
  • Collaborate with design and product on customer-visible outcomes.

Requirements

  • Real startup experience shipping products in lean environments.
  • A portfolio, GitHub, side projects, open-source work, or indie apps demonstrating personally shipped software.
  • Fluency in TypeScript and comfort with Node, React, React Native, and REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with AWS serverless systems such as Lambda and SQS, or equivalent event-driven systems.
  • Practical testing experience with tools such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, and Detox, integrated into CI.
  • Ability to refine rough ideas into scoped, high-leverage releases.
  • Clear communication, ownership, and comfort navigating engineering tradeoffs.
