Software Engineer - Platform in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design and build safe, reliable agent infrastructure for engineering and operations workflows.
  • Implement event-driven data flows with event brokers, CDC connectors, schema registries, event routing, and dead letter queues.
  • Build data lineage, governance, RBAC, auditing, PII handling, retention enforcement, and enterprise compliance infrastructure.
  • Set strategy and architecture for build systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines while advancing continuous deployment.
  • Instrument services with OpenTelemetry, define and monitor SLOs, build alerting, and participate in on-call operations.
  • Improve infrastructure cost visibility and optimization through query cost estimation, workload right-sizing, and storage-tier routing.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to improve codebases, infrastructure, and processes.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of production experience building platform infrastructure, backend services, or data systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience designing APIs for internal services and developers.
  • Strong distributed systems and cloud platform experience, preferably AWS, including hands-on experience with S3, RDS, EKS, EventBridge, and IAM.
  • Experience with Terraform-managed environments.
  • Familiarity with Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster and transformation frameworks such as dbt.
  • Understanding of RBAC, PII handling, audit logging, and data lineage.
  • Track record of leading complex engineering initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable impact.
  • Strong technical communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to adopt and evaluate modern developer tooling.
  • Experience with shared libraries or SDKs, versioning, backwards compatibility, and migration support is preferred.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, CDC, event buses, schema registries, and at-least-once delivery semantics is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, or similar observability infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as SOC 2, FedRAMP, or HIPAA is preferred.
  • Experience with Ray or similar distributed compute frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience in hyper-growth startups or scaling engineering organizations is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or hands-on Engineering Manager is preferred.

Salary: $220k - $300k/yr
