Responsibilities

Design and build scalable and reliable distributed systems supporting Adyen’s identity and verification services.
Develop KYC data collection and automated verification capabilities across the customer onboarding lifecycle.
Contribute to frameworks for legal-entity onboarding and identity and verification integrations.
Own features end to end from architectural design and implementation through testing, deployment, and live monitoring.
Implement monitoring, observability tools, Service Level Objectives, alerting, and resilience improvements.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Customer Onboarding, Merchant Operations, and Regulatory teams.

Requirements

Strong foundation in Java with experience building web services and REST APIs.
Experience building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable distributed systems.
Comfort working with SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
Understanding of monitoring practices, Service Level Objectives, resilience patterns, and operational excellence.
Interest in advanced software development and design patterns focused on scalability and resilience.
Collaborative experience driving technical discussions and continuous learning.
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive practical experience.
Experience with event-driven architecture and streaming is a plus.
Experience with Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Temporal.io, and big data platforms is a plus.
