Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and operate backend services and APIs for Jade.
Integrate AI models with member data, tools, and Chime services.
Own scoped features from technical design through implementation and rollout.
Develop automated evaluations, tests, and experiments to measure model quality and detect regressions.
Improve system reliability, performance, and observability and investigate production issues.
Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and data teams to develop useful member experiences.

Requirements

At least 2 years of software development experience in a production environment at scale.
Proficiency in a backend programming language such as Python, Go, or Ruby, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Experience building backend services or applications and working with APIs and databases.
Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including service communication, reliability, latency, consistency, and scale trade-offs.
Strong systems thinking, problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, and willingness to learn.
Preferred: Python backend development experience, familiarity with LLMs and model APIs, AI evaluation experience, or exposure to LangSmith, LangChain, LangGraph, Amazon Bedrock, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
