Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and operate cloud-native infrastructure security services used across Klaviyo.
  • Own services and components end to end from implementation through production operation.
  • Improve the availability, scalability, latency, efficiency, performance, reliability, observability, and security of distributed systems.
  • Collaborate on system design, architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and technical problem solving.
  • Build tooling, automation, and documentation that improve developer experience and security posture.
  • Contribute to monitoring, alerting, incident response, and operational excellence through an on-call rotation.
  • Partner with product-facing and platform engineers to deliver secure solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience building and operating cloud-native distributed systems in production.
  • Production-quality programming experience in Python or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or a similar cloud provider, including managed services, networking, and IAM concepts.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of scalable, multi-tenant architectures and secure system design.
  • Ability to own services and features independently and participate in on-call and production issue response.
  • Clear communication, collaboration, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred experience with security-focused systems such as secrets management, IAM, authentication and authorization, or policy enforcement.
  • Preferred familiarity with service meshes, API gateways, zero-trust architectures, and performance debugging for distributed systems.
  • Experience using modern developer tooling, including AI-powered tools, to improve productivity and code quality.

  • Base salary range of €76.000—€114.000 EUR, with potential bonus, equity, sign-on payments, and health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
  • Up to 10% travel, coordinated in advance, for onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events.
