Responsibilities

  • Design and implement web applications in React and TypeScript for device configuration, policy management, and firmware and application updates.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware, QA, UX, and Software teams to build scalable and maintainable systems.
  • Build accessible, responsive, and performant interfaces using Toast’s design system.
  • Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Deploy features using feature flags, monitor production performance, and investigate and resolve production issues.
  • Use AI development tools to improve development velocity and explore new engineering approaches.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional frontend web development experience.
  • Proficiency with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, including responsive single-page applications.
  • Understanding of component architecture and state management.
  • Experience integrating with REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience writing tests with tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright.
  • Proficiency with source control and code review tools such as Git or GitHub.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer empathy, and focus on clean, maintainable code and user experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with design systems, shared component libraries, large multi-team frontend codebases, micro-frontends, GraphQL clients, Apollo, React Query, Java, Kotlin, hardware, Android, mobile device management, or AI-augmented development tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
