Responsibilities

Develop and maintain payment features for global merchants, including card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and QR-code payments.
Build core business logic in Kotlin for Android and Linux-based payment terminals, payment SDKs, and backend systems.
Contribute to C++ libraries central to Adyen’s payment business logic.
Integrate payment solutions with a variety of cash registers and standards.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated product tests.
Debug Android applications and collaborate with engineers, product designers, and business stakeholders.
Mentor and grow other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and over-the-shoulder debugging.

Requirements

5+ years of experience writing Kotlin code.
Proficiency building software for the Android platform.
Experience developing enterprise-level SDKs and libraries used by other engineers.
Expert knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Gradle, and dependency injection.
Experience maintaining comprehensive automated unit and integration test suites.
Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred experience with C or C++, security best practices and standards, Bluetooth-connected devices, and the payments industry.

Salary: $154k - $200k/yr
