Software Engineer II in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Write and reliably deliver Java code with automated unit and integration tests.
  • Optimize code performance and identify bottlenecks in distributed systems.
  • Develop new features and improvements for NoSQL data pipeline services while minimizing technical debt.
  • Break project work into tasks with estimates and participate in code reviews.
  • Work across requirements, design, prototyping, implementation, review, release, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot problematic code, identify root causes, and resolve customer issues with customer support.
  • Use AI coding agents for incident resolution, feature development, testing, and investigations.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Java development.
  • Experience developing reliable software for high-volume data management under strict SLAs.
  • Experience with popular cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience using AI coding agents for development.
  • Knowledge of popular NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for clean code practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problematic code and identify root causes.
  • Preferred experience with MongoDB or Amazon DynamoDB change data capture, ETL or ELT data integration tools, and performance optimization in distributed systems.
