Responsibilities

Own product outcomes across conception, research, implementation, and maintenance in collaboration with engineering and cross-functional partners.
Define product strategy, frame problems, write specifications, prioritize scope, and make tradeoff decisions.
Talk directly with customers, review support tickets, and observe how customers use Clay.
Design and build complex full-stack features across backend and frontend systems.
Improve product performance and reliability and increase development velocity through codebase improvements.
Mentor other engineers and contribute to the growth of the team.

Requirements

At least 4 years of hands-on engineering experience building high-quality products.
Experience or interest in owning products end to end, including deciding what is worth building.
Ability to work quickly, make tradeoffs, and iterate based on customer feedback.
Strong customer orientation and ability to communicate with technical, opinionated customers.
Clear, empathetic communication across different levels of abstraction.
Ability to write bug-free, understandable code and raise the engineering bar.
Familiarity with Clay’s current technology stack or ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
Commitment to diverse perspectives and collaborative teamwork.
