Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable Python backend services and APIs.
  • Build interfaces, data contracts, and integration points connecting distributed services, external systems, and event-driven data streams.
  • Author unit, integration, and regression test suites and troubleshoot defects across development and test environments.
  • Profile applications, database queries, and data workflows to optimize latency and throughput.
  • Containerize applications with Docker and deploy and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads using Helm.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code-quality checks, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, peer reviews, and delivery of production-ready software increments.

Requirements

  • Active or current Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building and deploying production applications.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Python and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexes, and performant SQL, and Redis for caching, state management, or message buffering.
  • Experience containerizing applications with Docker and deploying and troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads using Helm.
  • Proficiency with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines involving automated testing, linters, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Ability to independently deliver user stories, work in existing codebases, and write defensive, testable code.
  • Preferred qualifications include TS/SCI with polygraph, Privileged User eligibility through CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II equivalency, distributed messaging, event-driven architectures, microservices, REST, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and space-to-ground, C2, or MM systems experience.
