Software Engineer in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify, test, implement, integrate, and maintain enterprise web applications using Microsoft technologies and web development tools.
  • Participate in software design discussions, technical decision-making, documentation, implementation, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide development and maintenance support across multiple projects and throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Apply coding and quality standards, identify problems, recommend solutions, and support successful project completion.
  • Collaborate with clients and distributed teams while building effective relationships through clear written and verbal communication.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software development experience with verifiable full-lifecycle delivery of complex web-based products.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing multi-tier enterprise applications using C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, and ADO.NET.
  • At least 1 year of Angular and TypeScript experience, plus at least 3 years of experience with HTML5, CSS3, and SQL Server.
  • Experience with unit testing using MSTest, NUnit, or equivalent; dependency injection frameworks; MVC, SOA, and object-oriented design patterns; and Scrum or similar Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, including experience working on distributed teams and handling confidential business information.
  • Insurance industry experience, ACORD standards, technical consulting, JavaScript frameworks, Enterprise RIA applications, UI component libraries, or Microsoft .NET certifications are preferred.
