Software Engineer in Australia new

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain security automation enhancements using established workflows, integrations, tools, and engineering patterns.
  • Contribute to cyber security incident management platform enhancements and security orchestration workflows.
  • Support the development and testing of API integrations and automation solutions.
  • Work with SOC analysts and security practitioners to automate repeatable processes and improve operational consistency and scale.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and provide break/fix support for automation solutions.
  • Follow secure engineering, source control, code review, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and operational practices.
  • Gather and document functional and technical requirements and raise delivery, security, and operational risks.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, generative AI, and agentic AI to security operations and incident response.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Information Technology, including security automation and/or DevOps experience.
  • Experience or exposure to cyber security incident response, security monitoring, threat detection, risk management, and endpoint, network, or cloud security platforms.
  • Experience or exposure to SOAR solutions and/or security incident management platforms.
  • Experience using Python or another programming language to automate processes in a modular and scalable way.
  • Experience using JavaScript or another scripting language for dynamic graphical or web-based interfaces.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices, service management, Git, distributed version control systems, REST APIs, and database concepts.
  • Problem-solving, debugging, troubleshooting, communication, and continuous-learning skills.
  • Awareness of AI, generative AI, and agentic AI concepts and their practical applications in software engineering, automation, cyber security, and developer productivity.
  • Understanding of Agile practices and the ability to complete assigned work and learn from peer and senior engineer feedback.
