Responsibilities

Design, build, and scale automated test frameworks for Linux kernel and OS imaging hardware compatibility, performance, reliability, and security.
Develop test suites for new hardware designs and facilitate porting Akamai modifications to newer Linux kernel and VM infrastructure software versions.
Debug, isolate, and troubleshoot complex low-level system issues in testing and simulated production environments.
Architect and enhance build and test automation infrastructure for continuous integration and testing.
Collaborate with senior engineers to improve testing organization quality standards and develop new technical skills.

Requirements

Two years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Solid scripting experience in Python, Shell, or Perl, with some software validation experience in C.
Understanding of Linux kernel internals, including hardware drivers, PCIe, GPU hardware, Ethernet devices, KVM, virtio, cgroups, memory management, file systems, block I/O, and the TCP/IP stack.
Familiarity with x86 and server-class ARM64 architectures.
Familiarity with Linux kernel and hardware debugging tools, performance benchmarking, and continuous testing or CI frameworks.
Ability to collaborate effectively and solve complex infrastructure challenges.
