Responsibilities

Build reliable Java backend software supporting SIXT’s B2B Sales performance and revenue management platform.
Design and own scalable, resilient distributed systems across a cloud-native microservices ecosystem.
Develop shared libraries and internal tooling to improve engineering team delivery velocity.
Design event-driven architectures and solutions that scale with SIXT’s enterprise needs.
Use and guide the responsible adoption of AI coding assistants, including Cursor and Claude, in engineering workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, such as a B.Tech or B.E., or a Master’s degree.
7–9 years of hands-on experience in sophisticated engineering environments, including cloud-native application development, scalability problem-solving, and event-driven system design.
Strong production-proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Experience navigating modern microservices landscapes and designing or operating distributed systems at scale.
Understanding of event-driven patterns, publish-subscribe models, and message brokers such as Apache Kafka.
Experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor and Claude, with the judgment to recognize their limitations.
