Software Developer, Data Engineering in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Define and build key datasets across Robinhood product areas and lead their evolution as use cases grow.
  • Build scalable data pipelines using Python, Spark, and Airflow to move data from applications into the data lake.
  • Partner with upstream engineering teams to improve data generation patterns.
  • Work with data consumers to understand usage patterns and design intuitive data models.
  • Contribute to shared data engineering tooling, standards, and company-wide best practices.

Requirements

  • A computer science background or another relevant field of study.
  • At least 4 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 2 years with a master’s degree.
  • Experience building high-quality data solutions and scalable data pipelines.
  • Expertise with open-source data frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages, ideally Python.
  • Strong SQL skills, including Presto or Spark SQL.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and data-democratization skills.
  • A strong product mindset.
