Software Design Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, debug, and maintain software across systems, developer platforms, and AI-powered engineering environments.
  • Develop software primarily with Python, C/C++, and PowerShell, with opportunities to use Rust and C#.
  • Build software for Windows operating systems, systems infrastructure, virtualization, cloud environments, and distributed systems.
  • Create automation, developer tools, and services for software engineering, testing, debugging, code generation, and developer workflows.
  • Integrate AI and large language models with source code, engineering data, tests, logs, and system telemetry.
  • Develop agentic systems, program analysis solutions, automated code and test generation, and scalable engineering platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex new and legacy production systems and collaborate with engineers and researchers to turn experimental ideas into practical software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and C/C++.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems development, testing, debugging, unit testing, and complex software or systems troubleshooting.
  • Experience designing and developing software for large or complex systems and translating technical or research concepts into practical solutions.
  • Preferred qualifications include PowerShell, Rust, C#, AI/LLMs, agentic systems, automated code or test generation, program analysis, developer tools, Azure, virtual machines, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, virtualization, and research-oriented software engineering.

Salary: $100k - $110k/yr
