Senior Staff Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for the Content Platform organization.
  • Resolve complex technical problems spanning multiple teams and systems.
  • Lead architecture and design reviews and establish technical standards.
  • Mentor Staff and senior engineers and scale technical judgment across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering, product, design, marketing, and business stakeholders to align technical strategy with business priorities.
  • Represent Marketing Technology in company-wide technical forums and influence broader engineering direction.
  • Remain hands-on while setting organization-wide technical direction for AI-driven marketing content systems.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with organizational-scale technical leadership.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Deep expertise in backend systems and large-scale, service-oriented, and distributed architectures.
  • Experience architecting and scaling agentic or AI-driven systems in production.
  • Experience with Java and/or Kotlin, LangGraph, GraphQL, relational and NoSQL databases, and Redis.
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and drive execution across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience influencing engineering culture and standards beyond a single team.
  • Strong focus on efficiency, availability, and system quality at scale.
  • Marketing Technology or Growth platform experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional influence skills.

Benefits

  • US remote eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with the manager.
  • May be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Salary: $248k - $310k/yr
