Responsibilities

Develop software architectures and code for complex, distributed, mission-critical systems from concept through deployment and sustainment.
Design, develop, and optimize ground control software for low-latency communication with UAVs and autonomous platforms.
Build high-performance client and server applications for telemetry processing, mission planning, and real-time control.
Implement React and TypeScript user interfaces for operator workflows, spatial-data visualization, sensor feeds, and mission state.
Create and maintain architecture diagrams, behavior diagrams, and technical documentation for internal and customer deliverables.
Derive software requirements from system-level requirements, maintain requirements traceability, and support system decomposition and interface definition.
Participate in architecture trade studies, technical decision-making, system design reviews, and end-to-end integration with hardware, network, test, and integration teams.
Communicate technical concepts to engineering, program management, and customer stakeholders while providing cross-functional technical leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
8+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years of software architecture or technical leadership experience.
Proficiency in a strongly typed language such as C#, TypeScript, Java, or C++, with exposure to lower-level systems or protocol integration.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, systems engineering processes and standards, requirements management, traceability, version control, and CI/CD tools.
Preferred experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, autonomous systems, aviation, automotive, telecommunications, or other complex-systems domains.
Preferred experience with ground control software, mission planning tools, real-time visualization platforms, MBSE, cloud-native architectures, containerization, orchestration, and autonomy or command-and-control standards.
Preferred familiarity with Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Stell, JIRA, Confluence, A-GRA, OMS, and Universal Command & Control Interface.
Ability to work across engineering disciplines, translate complex requirements into software solutions, balance technical and operational constraints, and develop and manage Interface Control Documents.
