Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy ML-based search and discovery relevance models and systems at scale.
  • Build automated ML and NLP pipelines for preprocessing, query understanding, query rewriting, ranking, retrieval, and model evaluation.
  • Develop frameworks to evaluate search ranking improvements both offline and online.
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams on search and discovery technology initiatives.
  • Contribute to search quality improvements and expand asset coverage across Databricks products and services.

Requirements

  • A BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field is required; an MS or PhD is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing search relevance systems at scale in production or high-impact research environments.
  • Experience applying LLMs to search relevance.
  • Experience with one or more of query understanding, NLP, text mining, recommendations, personalization, discovery, or conversational AI.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Contributions to well-used open-source projects.
